History
City on a Hill Legal Ministry, Inc. (“CHLM”) was established in 2021 and
started operations in 2022 from our former location in Westchester, Miami. Our
services primarily focused on preparing legal permanent residents for the
citizenship process – providing English and civics classes, preparing their
naturalization applications, and getting the clients ready for their citizenship
interview. We offered services on a completely free basis (including the
attorneys’ time) and covered the costs of the filing fees for the citizenship
applications. Our free citizenship services were made available based on need –
depending on the income level of the applicants.
In the middle of 2024, our organization started to shift focus. We saw the
tremendous need for legal immigration services within our community, but we
also saw our limitations to serve the community on an individual basis. The Lord
started opening our minds to see beyond what we were doing, and to start
looking at the tremendous potential to multiply the work by partnering with His
Church.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
Trusting in Jesus Christ as our Savior, we believe in:
One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. The Deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, God's only Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary; His vicarious death for our sins through which we receive eternal life; His bodily resurrection and personal return. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration. The Bible as the inspired Word of God.

City on a Hill Legal Ministry is an affiliated Christian Legal Aid Program of Christian Legal Society and a member of the Christian Legal Aid Network.
